Hi there, I’m Rachel, founder of Hummingbird
Design.
I am also mum to Bridget, the inspiration for Hummingbird. I’m currently I’m on parental leave from my position as Executive Assistant, at Massey University, Palmerston North. I am due to return to work at the beginning January 2010, which is going to be interesting!
My husband Andrew is a Technical Advisor to NZCS and supporter of Hummingbird.
I have always had a keen interest in design - interior design is my absolute passion - Andrew and I have almost finished restoration of our 1903 villa in Palmerston North. Somehow my interior design passion morphed into landscape design and now into personal pieces.
I love the creative learning and challenges that Hummingbird has provided me with, I have not embarked on anything quite like this before, adn there have been many times when we’ve had to think outside the square to come up solutions for these items. I have so many ideas for the future and am planning on joining Andrew in his downtown office space next year - a fabulous reason to find an old desk!
Hummingbird is my excuse to provide beautiful, high quality objects of desire to the region and beyond!
